How Long Do Veneers Take?

How Long Do Veneers Take?

We love answering questions about veneers. The process involves an exam, deciding how many veneers to do, then just two appointments to complete the veneers. The temporizing appointment and then the second visit to place the final veneers on your teeth.

Hello and welcome to incredible smile.com. My name is Dr. Lori Kemmet, founder and owner of incredible smiles. A common question that we get an incredible smiles is how long does a veneer take or how long do veneers take?

When someone comes into our office to learn about cosmetic dentistry it’s an honor and a privilege for us to meet with you first of all and then to answer your questions about veneers. So what is a veneer? A veneer is actually a very micro thin piece of porcelain and it’s only about half of a millimeter thick. And then as far as the process goes what we do is we have you come into the office for an exam.

I have to do that first to check out your mouth and I want to be as thorough as I can. So the exam is required first and then after that we can move right into doing the veneers. Typically I will do 8 to 10 veneers. That brings the beautiful smile around the corners of the mouth instead of stopping short. Sometimes you’ll see cosmetic dentistry done where only two or four veneers are done and you can just tell something’s not right.

They must have done some kind of dentistry but maybe not enough. So we never make that mistake in our office. Again, back to how long does a veneer really take. Veneers actually take only two appointments. It’s the preparation appointment where you leave with beautiful temporaries and then four weeks later you come back we take the temporaries off and we put the permanent ones on. It’s very simple.
